Known for his role as a singer/guitarist with Real Ponchos, Vancouver, BC based songwriter Ben Arsenault has also been performing regularly in Canada under his own name for the past 15 years. His songwriting is inspired by his country Acadian roots, and the west coast wilderness, where he grew up.
Ben released his sophomore album “Make Way For This Heartache”, on July 11, 2024 with the North Country Collective. Since its release, “Make Way For This Heartache” has been garnering all the right kind of praise for a classic country album. “One of this year’s most comforting country records” said Holler, who included Ben in their list of 10 artists you need to know for July 2024. Bandcamp included “Make Way First This Heartache” on its list of the “Best Country Music on Bandcamp” for July 2024 and praised its “timeless twangy elements“. “This is what country music should sound like” said Americana UK.
JR Proctor

JR Proctor is a top shelf purveyor of alt-country songs. You might not have heard of him but that’s only because he’s more concerned with living real life, and you can hear that in his honest and incisive songwriting.
Robbie Bankes
https://open.spotify.com/artist/2DpbeYt0c61tsjVoHr5xQD?si=PM0MFr4NQeKe9M-G5q_14w
Robbie Bankes is a living folk legend. A student of ancient Norwegian fiddle techniques and a goat farmer in a remote fjord, luckily for us he’s in Victoria currently. It’s rare to find a songwriter this good with the musicianship to match.
