Beltane Ritual in the Park with North Wyldewood
Join us on Saturday May 4th for a joyous Beltane celebration that harkens back to ancient times.
Beltane, one of the great fire festivals of the Wiccan Wheel of the Year, heralds the arrival of Summer. In ancient Celtic agrarian societies, this sacred time marked the season of growth and abundance, when the land flourished with new life. Communities would kindle great protective bonfires, leaping through the flames for purification and blessing. Rituals were performed to safeguard crops, livestock, and the well-being of the people, calling upon the vibrant energies of fertility, passion, and renewal. Today, we continue these traditions in our own way, celebrating the fire of transformation, the awakening of the land, and the joyful union of Earth and Sky. 🔥🌿
To welcome the advent of the summer season, we’ll make flower crowns, dance (around) the Maypole, and join in ritual circle—all to ready ourselves to bring the blessings of abundance, love, prosperity and joy into our lives.
🌺 Note: This is a special ritual involving our Maypole, and you are welcome to join us at 11am to learn how to make a flower crown to wear for the ritual. If you do not intend to make a flower crown with us, and would simply like to celebrate the ritual with us, please arrive at 11:45AM. ✨The ritual will begin at 12:15PM.✨
Please bring:
🧵Fabric ribbon, at least 15 feet in length, in a color that has personal or magickal significance to you (satin ceremonial ribbon is a good option, available on Amazon as well as at Michaels.)
💐 Flowers or greenery that has personal or magickal significance to you (for crown decorating— bring some to share with and swap with others!)
🧺 A blanket to sit on after the ritual
🍷 A chalice (or cup for drinking)
📔 A journal and pen or pencil
🥧 OPTIONAL: Food and drink to enjoy during feasting after the ritual
Blessed Beltane, from all of us in the North Wyldewood Coven and Tradition!
