Open your wild heart to the WelldernessAs nature starts to stir for summer, the Wellderness welcomes you to our annual Beltane Fire and Feast Festival.
From 12pm until after the sun goes to sleep, we’ll be drumming, dancing, listening and learning at Wild Heart Hill. On the slopes of the stunning South Downs, we have a full line-up of entertainment, activities and ceremonies to keep you captivated throughout the day.
Guided by Paradise Wild, you’ll lose yourself in nature-inspired tales, then melt into a meditative sound bath. You’ll feel the raucous pagan rhythms of the Pentacle Drummers and have your spirits lifted by the Gathering Light Choir. Then Coconut Eclipse will get your body moving with their folky funk vibes, live from the Wellderness stage.
Later, as the sun dips behind the Western hills, White Raven Ceremonies will call in the May and cast off the winter. Then we’ll parade around the rally field, led by Poi Passion who’ll bring the Beltane flame before they thrill you with a breathtaking fire performance.
Gates open at midday, giving you a couple of hours to settle in, ground yourself and explore the surroundings before we open the ceremony at 2pm. Throughout the day, Red Fox Historical Archery will be on hand to teach you how to shoot a bow and arrow. Plus, we’ll have craft and jewellery stands, handfasting ceremonies, and plenty to eat and drink. And, of course, nature will be all around to open our hearts and soothe our souls.
