About this Event
This program is designed to engage individuals and communities that *profess the Christian faith in conversations about race, racial history, diversity and wokeness.
For too long, these topics have been teased and touched upon, but left unresolved. In the 1960s, both Malcolm X and Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. noted that the most segregated hour in America is church-time on Sunday. Decades later, this fact remains true, despite the significant progress our nation has made.
If racial healing within our nation is to ever fully take hold, it will be because the Christian church leads the way. As Jesus said "they will know you're my disciples by the way you love one another." (John 13:35)
The Beloved Community Cohort Project is a series of intentional conversations and workshops designed to help foster transformational change. We will engage prayer, scripture, history and lived experience to dig deeper than many are accustomed until we become the change our communities need.
*While the conversations will be centered in Christian faith and teachings, all people of genuine goodwill are welcome.
