Celebrate Canada Day at West Zwick’s Park on July 1, 2024. They will be filling the park with inflatables, wrestlers, buskers, music, fireworks, and many free shows and attractions.
The park opens at 9:30 a.m. with the annual Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast at the Tom Gavey Pavilion. The fun officially begins at noon with scheduled performances by Hot Diggity Dogs (12:30 p.m. and 3 p.m.) and Classic Championship Wrestling at 1 p.m. (one show only).
The Lions Pavilion mainstage is active all day long with “Quinte’s Best Variety” featuring multiple local artists performing traditional Canadian favourites starting with The Salute to Canadian Roots. Main stage performances include 2023 Kids Got Talent winners, The Garvin Brothers (who are opening up for the Glorious Sons this summer).
Buskers will roam the park all afternoon featuring stilt walkers Miss Canada, Mr. Mountie, and Ms. Stasia Canada. The final mainstage performance features Canada Rocks Band from 5 to 6:30 pm. We’ll be shifting gears with a dance party hosted by DJ Mydnyte at 7:30 p.m. Fireworks start at dusk—don’t forget your lawn chairs!
We have a number of community partners with great activities for children, including the ever-popular balloon twisting and face painting until 7 p.m. And of course, there’s food!!
Pop-Ups on the Bay vendors will be open and we’re bringing back Squeezy’s Lemonade along with other local favourites.
There will be FREE Shuttles from the Quinte Mall (by the new Winners location) and the Downtown Bus Terminal to West Zwick’s Park.
Volunteers will be onsite to collect $5 for parking and your donation supports local community groups.
