Florida's Gulf Coast isn't exactly full of Golden Age golf course architecture. Thankfully, due to a recent restoration, Belleair Country Club's West Course is around to show the area what top-tier golf architecture is all about. The West Course at Belleair was recently restored to its Donald Ross roots by Dana Fry & Jason Straka and now boasts some of the best architecture in the area.

This winter, we're heading to see Belleair for a full day at the West Course. We'll see the fruits of the design team's labor, experience top-of-the line hospitality, and soak up some sunshine to stave off the winter blues. Join us!

- Designed by Donald Ross and recently renovated by Dana Fry & Jason Straka, the West Course at Belleair is a visual stunner that sits alongside Clearwater Bay. The course features a unique combination of Ross traits, including varied green complexes and "cop" bunkers. Ross not only did the original work at Belleair in the 1910s but returned about 10 years later to make some adjustments. Belleair's restoration with Fry/Straka benefited from an extensive archive of old documents and drawings from both periods, allowing the design team to make today's version as close Ross's initial work as possible.

• Airports - Tampa International Airport (TPA) is your best option for your visit to Belleair, and it's a convenient option at that. The airport is less than 20 miles from Belleair and offers direct flights to most major metros in the country.
• Hotels - The most convenient option to Belleair is the Belleview Inn, a hotel that overlooks the Belleair Country Club property. For those looking to stay closer to the Gulf you can look at everything from the Hyatt Regency Clearwater to the Holiday Inn & Suites Clearwater to the more premium Opal Sands Resort.
