As part of Douglas County CASA's Kansas Fights Addiction grant, we encourage you to consider joining this all-day training from DCCCA entitled Beliefs, Attitudes, and Facts: Understanding Addiction. Meant to be a next step after Naloxone & Overdose training, this offering is open to our volunteers, KVC, the court staff, CRB, and anyone who has participated in the Naloxone trainings offered by CASA in the fall of 2025.
About this training:
This is a one-day, interactive experience where participants learn about the beliefs and attitudes of others. We will explore the impact substance use has on friends and family members of the person using. This workshop will also discuss the stigma of substance use and how it relates to mental health.
Participants will:
- Gain an awareness of personal beliefs and attitudes towards addiction.
- Develop an understanding of how addiction can impact families.
- Increase knowledge of the physiological effects of alcohol and other drugs.
- Increase understanding of the impacts on individuals, families, and communities.
