FILM SYMPHONIC WITH DIRK BROSSE
Sergei Prokofiev’s musical tale Peter and the Wolf is given new life in this innovative new animated interpretation, which won the 2008 Oscar for Best Animated Short Film. “Oldies will remember the work from school music lessons,” wrote London’s OBSERVER, “while those coming to the story for the first time will be delighted with this darkly comic modernization.” Conceived and directed by award-winning animator Suzie Templeton, this modern-day Peter & the Wolf uses stop-frame model animation, puppets, and digital photography to retell the enduring classic story, and features the Belgian National Orchestra under the direction of Dirk Brossé performing Prokofiev’s beloved score.

Le conte musical de Prokofiev, Pierre et le Loup, reprend vie grâce à ce film d’animation novateur, qui a remporté l’Oscar du Meilleur court métrage d’animation en 2008. « Les personnes plus âgées se souviendront de cette œuvre des cours de musique à l’école », écrivait l’OBSERVER de Londres après la première du film en 2006, « tandis que ceux qui découvrent l’histoire pour la première fois seront enchantés par cette adaptation tragi-comique ». Conçu et réalisé par l’animatrice primée Suzie Templeton, ce Pierre et le Loup moderne utilise l’animation en stop motion, les marionnettes et la photographie numérique pour raconter à nouveau cette histoire bien connue. Le Belgian National Orchestra, dirigé par Dirk Brossé, interprète la célèbre partition de Prokofiev.
