Join us at the amazing Belgian-Hungarian Jazz Club with Nikoletta Szőke singer and Gábor Cseke pianist.
Nikoletta Szőke is a new winner of the Péter Máté prize, winner of the Montreux jazz singing competition and one of Hungary's most popular jazz performers. In addition to Hungarian concert halls and festivals, she has performed with great success in New York, Tokyo, Brussels, Copenhagen, London and Berlin, singing with Michel Legrand, Bobby McFerrin, Kurt Elling and Gregory Hutchinson, among others. She has released seven solo albums to date, the latest of which, Moonglow, was produced by Grammy Award winner Helik Hadar. He has been writing songs in Hungarian for eight years and made his debut with the hit song "Új esély" (New Chance) in Dal 2021.
Gábor Cseke graduated in piano from the Liszt Academy of Music. As well as performing, teaching has played an important role in his career. Since 2002, he has been the musical partner of Kornél Fekete-Kovács and pianist with the Modern Art Orchestra since its inception. His musical sensibility is an integral part of the soul of the ensemble. He is a recognised member of several Hungarian jazz bands, a regular piano accompanist and the artistic director of Hungarian Radio's talent competitions. In 2008, the eMeRTon prize-winning composer and pianist was awarded the Artisjus prize for his outstanding work in presenting Hungarian music.
The band is composed by Tamás Zsári (saxophone), Bart De Nolf (double bass) and Bruno Castellucci (drums).
