JOIN US FOR A FUN WINTER HIKE!This hike is one of my favourites and very enjoyable. With some challenging inclines, it promises to be a great workout, with spectacular views along the way.
This amazing trail located in Caledon is part of the Ontario Parks system and also part of the Niagara Escarpment biosphere. We will hike northwest along the Bruce Trail and onto the Devil’s Pulpit where you will be rewarded with gorgeous views across the Credit Valley. We will also hike to the Hoffman Lime Kiln Ruins before making our way to Cataract Falls.
Here is what to expect:
-15km technical hike suitable for intermediate level hikers
- forested paths with steep declines and inclines (400m+ elevation gain)
- two climbing sections with guide wire
- large moss covered boulders
- icy steps (microspikes mandatory)
- views of Cataract Falls
* free road side parking
* yoga stretches to warm up before we start the hike and again at the end of the hike
* relaxed pace (we are NOT a fast hiking group). We wait for everyone and slow down when needed/stop and take breaks as needed.
* mindful meditation includes forest bathing (still, quiet time in the forest). We will find a spot in the forest to practise for a minimum of 10 minutes of silent meditation.
* lunch by the river (bring your own lunch)
What you need to bring:
- wear hiking shoes/hiking boots/winter boots (check the weather before you leave)
- gloves, hat, layers, etc, depending on the weather (dress appropriately for winter)
- pack at least 8 cups of water or hot beverage
- lunch or snacks

- optional: hiking poles
Be prepared for all conditions on trail including ice and snow.

Meet at the intersection of The Grange Side Road and Creditview Road.
Do not attempt to access The Grange Side Road from the west; the road is possibly closed just beyond McLaren Road. You must access from Mississauga Road and drive east for 1.5km or from Olde Base Line and drive north on Creditview Road for 3.4km to the meeting spot.
Note: Road closure may add 15 mins additional to your commute.
MEETING TIME:
We start at 11:00am. I will guide everyone through a warmup and then we will start the hike.
REGISTRATION REQUIRED - 12 SPOTS
This meetup will be capped at 12 spots. To join, please reserve a spot by sending the meetup fee as outlined below:
Meetup fee:
Single Day Hiking Pass:
$20+hst ($22.60) any time before 6:00pm Thursday
$25+hst ($28.25) after 6:00pm Thursday
$30+hst ($33.90) after 8:00pm Friday
5 Day Hiking Pass:
Can be used on ANY 5 hikes (valid until December 31st, 2024).
$20 × 5 = $100+hst ($113).
Bonus 1: you can book your spot on any day/last minute and the rate remains only $20. (Note: once you confirm your spot and your name is added to the list, a session is counted). Please keep track of your hikes.
Bonus 2: everyone who registers for the 5 day hiking pass receives a FREE yearly calendar that you can track your hikes with.
