(English below)Netop nu lider næsten 300 millioner produktionsdyr i EU hvert år i bure – indespærrede uden mulighed for fri bevægelse, frisk luft og naturlig adfærd.
Det er ikke kun uetisk, det er heller ikke bæredygtigt i en tid, hvor der er mere fokus på klima end nogensinde før.
Forskningen viser tydeligt, at en burfri fremtid er både mulig og nødvendig.
Ved at implementere, at alle produktionsdyr som minimum er i løsdrift, kan vi skabe et landbrugssystem, der giver mere velfærd, og retfærdighed samt bedre liv for dyr, mennesker og vores planet.
EU-kommissionen har på baggrund af et europæisk borgerinitiativ med flere end 1,4 millioner underskrifter forpligtet sig til at handle på dette område.
Selv om initiativet startede allerede i 2018 mangler dyrevenner og dyreværnsorganisationer over hele Europa fortsat konkret handling og levering af politikker, der for alvor får dyr ud af burene.
Danmark har EU-formandskabet indtil nytår, og derfor skal vi for alvor råbe politikerne op.
Denne kamp er ikke kun for dyrene - men også for demokratiet!
Compassion in World Farming er tovholder på projektet og de flere end end 170 europæiske dyreværnsorganisationer der er med i kampagnen.
Derfor er denne demonstration et samarbejde mellem Dyrenes Venner og CIWF.

Right now, nearly 300 million farm animals in the EU are suffering in cages every year – confined without the possibility of free movement, fresh air and natural behaviour.
It is not only unethical, it is also not sustainable in a time when there is more focus on climate than ever before.
Research clearly shows that a cage-free future is both possible and necessary.
By implementing that all farm animals are, as a minimum, free-range, we can create an agricultural system that provides more welfare, justice and a better life for animals, people and our planet.
The EU Commission has committed to taking action in this matter based on a European Citizens' Initiative with more than 1.4 million signatures.
Although the initiative started in 2018, animal lovers and animal protection organisations across Europe are still lacking concrete action and the delivery of policies that once and for all will end the cage age.
Denmark is holding the EU presidency until New Year, and that is why we must seriously call out politicians.
This fight is not only for the animals - but also for democracy!
Compassion in World Farming is the coordinator of the project and the more than 170 European animal protection organizations that are involved in the campaign.
Therefore, this demonstration is a collaboration between Dyrenes Venner (Friends of the Animals, Danish organizarion) and CIWF.
