Being Seen: A Retrospective, September 18, 7:30pm Wesley Grant Center, AVLFor several years, I’ve fantasized about presenting a one-woman show revisiting pieces that were well-received during the course of my choreographic career. Of course, the older I got the more frightening that prospect became. But I decided this year to go for it. So, September 18th at 7:30, at the Wesley Grant Recreation Center I am presenting my solo retrospective, Being Seen. I hope you will join me.
In keeping with a long tradition of admission to the Everybody Can-Can shows at UNCA, admission is $5 or four cans of food to be donated to Manna Foodbank.
The seven pieces on the program echo aspects of my relationship to the art of dance from childhood through various opportunities and challenges and concluding with a premiere, and perhaps only performance, of a new work made in collaboration with Taryn Griggs and Chris Yon this past spring.
The Dr. Wesley Grant Senior Southside Center is a beautiful community center located at 284 Livingston Street, 28801 at the Corner of Livingston and Depot Street. Parking is available in the lot and on the street.
Any time we step into the world and out into the spotlight, it's a leap of faith and, if I'm being honest, takes some bravery and a bit of pluck. It would mean the world to me if you would pass along this invitation to Being Seen: A Retrospective -to anyone you think might enjoy it.
Thanks so much!
