“I Am Little Haiti: A Global Borderless Caribbean Homecoming” is a series of linked events within Miami’s neighborhood of Little Haiti which reminds us of the centrality of place to immigrant communities, even as these communities are being displaced by forces including climate change, deportation, and gentrification. The evening will include a showing of documentary film La Belle Vie and a discussion with the filmmaker Rachelle Salnave. Inez Barlatier will perform and FIU graduate student, Nyya Toussaint, will provide a lesson on Creole basics.
