Galen Gritts, a registered member of the Cherokee Nation and Missouri native, shares insights into Native American life, history and identity—shattering stereotypes and offering personal truths. A frequent speaker with the Missouri Humanities Council, Gritts draws from his deep knowledge of history (UMSL graduate), his service on numerous Native advisory boards and his role as a founding member of the Alliance for Native Programming & Initiatives. Often amused to now be considered an Elder, he’s grateful to have reached a goal he set long ago—to grow old.
