Clowning in Connection between Inside and Outside

Deep workout in clown state and presence, finding the mask and counter-mask of the clown, clear emotions and freedom, discovering it in continuous complicity with both the audience and partner. Make the journey from you - the performer - to the clown, and from the clown to clown play, and back. Rely on your breath and body awareness to guide you through basic and revealing clown improvisations. Cut through distorted notions of what Clown is and find it in the reality of your own authentic experience.

Pedro's approach is based on pleasure, respect and challenge at the level each person is willing to take. It can be tailored according to the kind and purpose of each group.

LEVEL: Beginner to intermediate.
There is a progression in the training. Pedro adapts the pedagogy to participants’ level of experience, so that everyone can find meaningful and practical material to use in their artistic work or just everyday life.

Pedro Fabião is one of the most active international clown teachers (having taught in more than 25 countries) and a pioneer in top companies business trainings (Google, McKinsey, Columbia University Business School) crossed with the authenticity, empathy, creativity, improv and humour skills of a clown.

This powerful workshop will also be the entrance portal allowing participants who wish to dive deeper into the Clown journey to register in the long term program “A Clown is Born” that will happen between November 2024 and March 2025 over 5 intensive weekends and that will allow each participant to find their clown, learn how to play from the clown state and have an audience baptism with the clown nose.

Summary of the long term program
- Be transformed by the smallest mask in the world - the clown nose - which helps you reveal what is real in each moment
- Learn basic clown play structures, like mirroring, accepting, amplifying, resisting, insisting, learning and teaching
- Strengthen your ability to express yourself emotionally and playfully, with all your body
- Unlock emotional channels that may be less developed, especially in the 4 primary emotions - anger, fear, joy and sadness
- Laugh at yourself and find lightness in extreme situations, especially helping you make friends with mistakes and fuckups
- Discover your clown persona, drawing from some of your own personality traits, and explore totally new roles and forms of expressing yourself
- Align the conscious and thoughtful you with the vital energy of the animal you also are
- Explore the surrounding world of your clown and let your audience inside it
- Clown Baptism on stage with an Audience

Your purposes may be purely artistic - you will learn precise and detailed techniques of standing in front of an audience and make them laugh and feel something extra-ordinary. You will learn how to work with breath, movement and contact in a way that produces expected responses in an audience.
Your purposes may also relative to your personal growth - you will definitely deepen your capacity for authenticity, connection with others, vulnerability, joyful playfulness, sensitivity with your body wisdom and expression, self-confidence and spontaneous expression - in short, the pleasure of being alive. You will also weaken your self-censorship, fear of deep contact and feeling of being stuck.
More likely, you will appreciate the gains in both journeys, independently of what was the main purpose that brought you to this journey.
