Lilly Wei is a New York-based art critic, art writer, journalist, and independent curator whose area of interest is contemporary global art. She has written regularly for publications, art institutions, and galleries in the United States and abroad including Art in America, ARTnews, Art Asia Pacific, Sculpture Magazine, Asian Art News and Art Press. Over her career, she has authored hundreds of articles, reviews, interviews, essays and monographs on contemporary and modern art and artists. Wei frequently lectures and moderates talks and panels and has served as a visiting critic at universities, art schools, museums, and other art institutions. Wei has curated exhibitions in the United States and abroad, receiving excellent reviews. Deeply committed to not-for-profit art organizations supporting emerging artists and art writers, she serves on the board of trustees of several such institutions. Wei was born in Chengdu, China and has an MA in art history from Columbia University.
New York-based photographer Lois Conner received a BA from Pratt Institute and an MFA from Yale University. She is the recipient of a Guggenheim Fellowship and a Pollock Krasner Fellowship among other awards. Her work has been exhibited widely since 1973, most recently at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Robert Klein Gallery in Boston, Penumbra Foundation, Fordham University Art Gallery and the Shanghai Center of Photography. Her work is in the permanent collections of Metropolitan Museum of Art, Museum of Modern Art, Smithsonian Institution, Philadelphia Museum of Art, Brooklyn Museum, Chicago Art Institute, The Getty Museum, The British Museum and the Victoria and Albert Museum, among many others. In addition to numerous catalogues on her work, monographs include Beijing: Contemporary and Imperial (Princeton Architectural Press); Lotus, Trees and the Jiangnan Landscape; In the Shadow of the Wall: Photographs of China (Callaway); Panoramas of the East (Smithsonian) and To Be, (L’artiere.)
