About this Event
Wine is so easily susceptible to prejudice and petty pretentiousness that the wine snob is a stock figure. Nothing does better to banish this booby and to free us from the shackles he imposes than to taste blind. Far from being a competitive game of pin the label on the wine, tonight we try to get behind the label, to leave behind preconceptions and focus solely on the senses and what is in the glass before us. Tonight we look for the clues that will help us to analyse what is in the glass, to think about where it came from and how it tastes, and most importantly of all does it please us and when would we want to drink it. Ditch the baggage and join us for a liberating evening of discovery where all you need is an open mind and a ready palate.
Our shop tastings start at 7.30pm and run for approximately one-and-a-half to two hours. We will taste 6-8 wines on a theme, and bread, cheese and charcuterie is provided to match with the wines. Due to the communal nature of the tasting, we are unable to cater for dietary requirements.
