About the Presenter:
Dr. Princeton Smith is a licensed psychologist and CEO/founder of True Purpose Behavioral Health Services, PLLC. He has also worked as a Staff Psychologist for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. He is a proud HBCU alumnus and completed his Bachelors degree in Psychology and Masters degree in Community Psychology from Florida A&M University, as well as his Doctoral degree (PhD) in Clinical Psychology from Jackson State University. Dr. Smith completed his predoctoral internship at the G.V. (Sonny) Montgomery VA Medical Center in Jackson, MS and postdoctoral fellowship at the Miami (FL) VA Healthcare System, Bruce W. Carter VA Medical Center with an emphasis on Mental Health Integration, Recovery, & Rehabilitation. Dr. Smith has a strong background in evidence-based psychotherapies (EBPs) for PTSD and trauma, including Prolonged Exposure Therapy and Cognitive Processing Therapy. He also has experience in many Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) interventions to address conditions such as depression, insomnia, substance use, and chronic pain management. Dr. Smith’s approach to therapy is very goal-oriented and patient centered. He is a native of South Florida and enjoys a variety of sports, traveling, reading, exercising, and trying new foods.
