This is a 3 week class running on consecutive Saturday afternoons. It will meet from 2:30-5:30pm on Nov 9, 16, 23.
In this introductory class we’ll cover how to complete simple upholstery projects from deconstructing the existing upholstery through cutting, securing and finishing new upholstery.
Students will start with footstool frames and learn to add webbing for support. Then we’ll cut foam and practice securing fabric to the deck for the smoothest result.
We’ll cover the difference between various foam densities and types of fabric, as well as ways to cover staples and nails.
Students will leave with a handy footstool made from reclaimed wood and upholstered with reclaimed fabric.
