We have had many customers request a rigid heddle weaving class, and are excited to be able to offer one with Susan Snider. Looking for new ways to use up your yarn stash? Weaving on a rigid heddle loom is fun, easy to learn and offers an extraordinary range of creativity. In this class, we will set-up the loom, explore numerous weaving patterns and techniques and play with color and texture. Join us and be inspired. Everyone will go home with a sample. The fee for this class is $175, and includes use of the loom as well as all yarns and materials needed for the class. If you have your own rigid heddle loom, you are encouraged to bring it so you learn on the loom you will be using. Preregistration is required; register at greenmountainfibers.com. There is a minimum of 2 registrants per class, and a maximum of 6. A business professional, now retired, Susan has been a maker and fiber artist most of her life. Susan learned how to weave in Sweden during her junior year in high school as a Rotary exchange student. A lifelong learner, Susan's passion for weaving, spinning, dyeing and all fiber arts never abated. Susan studied weaving in Denmark and was active in the Handweavers' Guild of Connecticut for over twenty years. She has been teaching since 2010. In 2016 Susan founded Mad River Fiber Arts & Mill in Waitsfield, Vermont producing yarn for small farmers and selling unique fiber products. Susan is a member of the Vermont Weavers Guild, Green Mountain Rug Hooking Guild and British Tapestry Alliance. Now retired from millwork, Susan looks forward to sharing her expertise, enthusiasm and passion for the fiber arts.
