We are offering a beginning gardening class. Spend quality time with Farmer Steve and learn all of the basics to have a successful home garden and take home some beautiful farm grown starts for planting in your garden. The class will focus on soil health and preparation, and three popular growing garden crops. The class will learn how to plant seeds so that they grow into strong healthy plants, how to set out plants from pots into the garden and how to care for the growing plants. We will learn about W**d and pest control for these types of plants. The three crops we will learn how to grow are tomatoes, lettuce and cabbage, with some comments on broccoli and cauliflower, which are grown like cabbage. The class will take place in our nursery tunnel which is sheltered but not heated. class begins at 1 p.m. and end about 3:30 with a hard stop at 4 p.m. after questions. The price of the class is $90, which includes a class notebook, seed starting materials and plant starts. A garden space of about 100 square feet or more, should be available to the student to get full value from this class. The class is limited to 12 people, and we will need at least 6 for the class to be held. Please DM message us with your email so that farmer Steve can provide more details and add you to the class list. Invoices for the class will be sent out beginning of April. If you don't have messenger, you can email Steve at [email protected] and let him know you are interested in the beginner class. The 2 dates are April 17th & April 19th. We have created an event for each class so choose the one you would like to attend please. The event will be removed when class is full. There is no drop in's for this event. Class is for adult gardeners.
