Beginner Crochet (washcloths) - $50Learn the basics of crochet while making simple washcloths.
This class is intended for students with little or no crochet experience.
The class will consist of two 2-hour sessions.

What you will learn: The goal of this class is to teach the basic crochet stitches, along with how to
read a simple pattern, start a simple project, and finish off a simple project.
The class includes 3 simple washcloth patterns designed to incrementally teach the basic crochet stitches.
The first project will introduce the very basics of slip knot, chain stitch and single crochet.
The second project will introduce double crochet and discuss turning chains and the third will introduce half double crochet and triple crochet, as well as more discussion of turning chains .
We will also discuss other topics such as gauge, yarn weights and types, and other questions students may have.
With these basics you will be able to take on many more advanced projects.
Class size will be limited to 4 students to insure plenty of individual attention. Each student learns at
their own pace and will complete as much of the material as possible.

Required:
1 skein of Queensland Collection Coastal Cotton worsted weight cotton yarn in a light solid color.
Size H/8 (5.0mm) crochet hook
Large eyed tapestry needle
~Yarn is to be purchased from Wool and Whimsy yarn shop. Other tools are also available through Wool and Whimsy.
Recommended:
Additional yarn is recommended for stitch practice and to be able to move on to learning the next stitch
before the previous project is completed.
Small Scissors.
Teacher: Kathleen has been crocheting for at least 50 years, She has more than 10 years of
experience teaching crochet and is a Craft Yarn Council of America certified crochet instructor. She is
returning to teaching after a break of several years and looks forward to sharing her love of crochet
with others again.
