About this Event
In this one day course for beginners, we will dip our toes into the 500-year-old craft of bobbin lace. We will start by building skills through making samplers of the basic stitches used in bobbin lace. From there we will learn to combine filling and ground stitches to create patterns in strips. By looking closely at lace from the ground up, students will leave with a foundation for advancement and understanding of this complex art form.
Please select a ticket based on wether you would like to borrow supplies or bring your own supplies to learn on. (Supplies needed are: bobbin pillow, size 40 thread, pins, and 24 bobbins).
There will be an lunch break mid-class. There are an array of bagel shops, coffee shops, delis, pizzerias and other restaurants in the immediate location. Alternatively, Old Stone House has a fridge and microwave if you'd like to bring your lunch.
