About this Event
THIS IS A 5 WEEK COURSE ON A MONDAY 10-12, WEEKLY FROM NOVEMBER 18TH - DECEMBER 16TH
Join us for our Beginners Sewing Course with brilliant local artist Bev Rhodes.
Bev is multidisciplinary artist who loves sharing their craft knowledge and helping others find wellbeing through craft and creativity.
Sewing is such a fun and versatile skill to learn and there are so many things that you can make once you've learnt how to use a sewing machine. It is also a great hobby to have to help you relax and look after your everyday wellbeing.
In this beginner’s sewing course, you will learn how to use a sewing machine and make a patchwork top to take home with you.
All materials are provided.
The course is suitable for complete beginners.
Hot drinks and biscuits are included.
To ensure this Course is accessible to everyone we have made it Pay What You Can for the 5-week Course. We have suggested £10 per session to help cover costs but if this is not affordable for you then please input what you can. (When booking, please add a donation of however much you can afford for the 5-week course). Any donation is welcome. If you have any questions about bookings, please contact us by email on [email protected] or pop into the Stitch-Up Studio.
Stitch-Up CIC is a social enterprise and any profits we make are reinvested straight back into delivering our creative community projects supporting vulnerable and disadvantaged people in Leeds to learn new skills and improve wellbeing.
We will also be using this time to gain feedback from participants about what creative activities they would like to see going forward at Meanwood Community Centre so all feedback is greatly appreciated.
There is ample parking available at the Community Centre Car Park. If you cannot fit in the Car Park, please park on the main part of Stainbeck Avenue, with consideration to the residents please do not park in the cul-de-sac.
The Stitch-Up Studio is to the rear of the Community Centre. Once you arrive in reception please follow the signs for Stitch-Up.
You can follow us on Instagram @stitch_up or Facebook on STITCHUPLEEDS to keep up to date with what we are up to or visit our website stitch-up.org.uk.
