Boiler House
Our vision for the Boiler House is to develop a friendly community workshop space for local people, artists and businesses in the Moss Side area.
In the 1980s the Boiler House operated as a district heating system for thousands of homes in Moss Side and has gradually fallen out of use. In 2019 Sow the City (www.sowthecity.org) are transforming the building into a new type of resource for local people - a space for making things, learning new practical skills, and being creative. When the building is fully developed it will include office and activity space for small businesses, hobbyists as well as access to a shared workshop, space for community events, and a leading example of sustainable building design.
