Beginner's Orienteering Clinic: Land Navigation with a Map and Compass!!!

Orienteering is a sport where you find control flags in unfamiliar territory using a map and compass. This is often called land navigation (land nav) in military language. In two, 50 minute periods, this clinic will cover types of land navigation sports, map reading, how to orient a map toward north using a compass, how to take a compass bearing, and route selection principles so you don't get lost. All materials are provided. This clinic should prepare you for real life orienteering events listed at nashvilleorienteering.org. For ages 12 and up.
