Get to know and understand your sewing machine and learn some basic sewing techniques through a series of small projects that you can take home in this 3 week class.You will learn:
- How to thread and set up your machine
- How to use the different stitches on your machine
- How to insert a zip
- How to join pieces from a simple pattern
We’ll provide:
- 25cm zip
- Fusible interfacing
What you’ll need to bring:
- 2m cotton fabric to make your projects from (1m for your main fabric and 1m for your lining fabric)
- Matching thread with which to sew your projects
- A sewing kit including scissors or rotary cutter, a quick unpick, pins, tailors chalk or fabric pen, tape measure or ruler, spare needles for sewing machine.
- Sewing machine (although this course requires you to bring your own sewing machine, you can choose to hire one from us for £5)
The course runs for 3 weeks on Tuesday 2nd, 9th and 16th November, 7.30pm - 9.45pm.
