NoVA Dog Sports is hosting a seminar on an intro to disc dog mechanics and beginners freestyle orientation!This will be hosted at Heeling House in Leesburg, VA. This time, there will be one session at 2:30pm and will focus on the mechanics of disc dog with an orientation to freestyle! The sessions will be taught by Doug Kurucz and Kelly Knowles, local UpDog judges with extensive experience in disc dog, freestyle, games, and performance training! This class will focus on the basics of coordination with your dog, skills required for throwing competitively, and introductory tricks, shaping, and skills for your dog! Please note this content is focused on beginners looking to improve overall disc skills, handler/dog connection, and to start building towards foundational freestyle!
Agenda (based on our January session):
Section 1: Throwing accuracy, forehand roller technique
Section 2: Tricks and flow
Section 3: Individual handler choice, work on anything!
Section 1 will involve handlers only and focus on throwing accuracy. Section 2 will involve one handler at a time, working with their dog (details forthcoming). Section 3 will be a second round of working anything you would like!
Spots will be limited to about 6 people per session, $55 per working spot, $25 for an auditing spot!
