Join us for an engaging and hands-on Beginner Crochet Workshop at Ed's Mercantile! This three-part series is designed to take you from a novice to a confident crocheter, with the guidance of our experienced instructor, Rebecca.
Workshop Breakdown:
Class 1: Working in Rows (Washcloth)
Date: Friday, March 7th
Time: 4:15-5:45PM
Begin your crochet journey by learning essential skills: how to make a slip knot, chain, single crochet, and double crochet. Together, we’ll create a simple washcloth, introducing the fundamentals of starting and finishing a project. By the end of this session, you’ll feel confident continuing your project at home!
Class 2: Working in Rounds (Jar Cozy)
Date: Friday, March 14th
Time: 4:15-5:45PM
Master the technique of working in a round as we crochet a jar cozy. Weather you want a cozy for a mason jar or another glass bottle, this class will teach you how to make a magic ring and work in a circle. Not done by the end of class? No problem—finish it at home and bring your questions to the next session!
Class 3: Granny Square
Date: Friday, March 21st
Time: 4:15-5:45PM
Learn how to make the iconic granny square and turn it into a coaster, or create more squares after class and turn it into something else. In this class we will learn how to make a magic ring and you will be able to look through the granny square book to get inspirtion for more advanced granny square projects you can learn later.
Materials:
Hooks will be avaiable to borrow during the workshop. It is reccommended that you purchase a set of hooks with different sizes (3mm-6mm). Yarn will be avaiable to purchase at the workshop ranging from $2-$10, or you can bring your own.
