The South West Society of Botanical Artists welcomes anyone with an interest in botanical illustration – students, artists, teachers, collectors, enthusiasts, friends and family. The Society was formed in 2006 to promote and encourage a high standard in botanical art throughout the South West of England. This remains a popular art form, as more and more people discover the joy of portraying plants in a pleasing and botanically accurate way. Fyne Court has a wonderful display of fruits and berries at this time of year, to draw and paint.
This informal ‘drop in’ workshop is free of charge to everyone. We will use pen and water colour to produce delicate but vibrant pictures. SWSBA will provide all the materials necessary for this workshop.
The South West Society of Botanical Artists is working with the Quantock Partnership to produce an archive of botanical pictures depicting the plants growing in the Quantock Hills. This project aims to promote the importance of plant life and wide range of plants and different habitats in the Hills.
Although this workshop is free of charge, it is important that you book your place via our website.
