Ready to try watercolor for the first time. This class is designed for complete beginners. No experience needed. We will start with the basics learning about watercolor, paints brushes, and paper types. You'll also get to experience fun extras like; salt, alcohol, masking fluid, pen, ink and watercolor pencils. Then we dive into a variety of techniques, including wet on wet, dry on wet, and how to create interesting textures, like Barnwood sand and reflections. Our main project will be a lighthouse scene that puts all your new skills into practice or if you'd prefer a seasonal twist we can create a fall or Thanksgiving inspired painting. We will even talk about how to rescue a watercolor that didn't turn out as planned because every painting has potential and all materials are provided. Paints brushes, paper and paper towels. Students are welcome to bring their own supplies if they have them and would like to learn how to use them times listed include a half hour break for snack or lunch brought by student.
