In this beginner rug hooking class we will be hooking up this "Bun on the Run" design created by Kim Graybill of Addie's Attic Designs. This rug is approximately 13x19 and features an adorable bunny. Perfect for spring and Summer! Note: Hooks and frames will be provided for use during this class. You may borrow them to use between Part 1 and Part 2, and return them upon completion of 2nd class.
Part 2 will be held on June 22nd from 9-noon.
Learn traditional rug hooking using wool strips on a linen backing. Kim Graybill will share some history of this American craft, explain the tools and materials needed, and familiarize you with the steps necessary to continue hooking beyond this class.
Please bring a small pair of sharp scissors to cut off the snippets of wool as you go along. In addition, if you already have a frame or a hook, you may bring it with you to use if you would likes. A regular embroidery hoop will not work.
Note:
Should you decide that you are "hooked", hooks (basic to deluxe), custom frames, wool and patterns available for purchase in the shop.
Designs by your instructor, Kim Graybill, and designs by Deedre Mitchell, of Red Cabin Rugs, available for purchase in the shop. Both are local and have been hooking and/or designing for well over 20 years.
Thank you for understanding that classes are non-refundable.
If there is inclement weather class we be rescheduled.
