This five-part series of classes will take you from complete beginner to confident knitter. You will learn all the foundational concepts and skills you need to complete several beginner and beginner+ level knitting patterns, including coasters, a dishcloth, scarves, and a hat. You will learn:--the two foundational knitting stitches
--how to read a pattern
--how to begin your knitting project
--yarn 101
--changing yarn
--binding off
--basic shaping - increases and decreases
--how to end your project and give it a professional finish
--all about gauge and how to make projects that will fit

Supplemental Learning: You will receive a handout at every class that has the pattern we covered in class, supplemental pattern recommendations for additional practice, and a link to video playlists that show the skills we covered that lesson - so you won’t get lost after you go home!
Homework: Homework will be required every week to develop your skills. Completing the homework is a crucial part of this class!
Materials: A starter kit will be provided with needles and yarn to complete 4 coasters. Supplies to complete the hat and other projects will be available for purchase, or you may purchase your own elsewhere.
Required Skills/Knowledge: NONE. This course is designed for complete beginners.
