This five-part series of classes will take you from complete beginner to confident knitter. You will learn all the foundational concepts and skills you need to complete several beginner and beginner+ level knitting patterns, including coasters, a dishcloth, scarves, and a hat. You will learn:
--the two foundational knitting stitches
--how to read a pattern
--how to begin your knitting project
--yarn 101
--changing yarn
--binding off
--basic shaping - increases and decreases
--how to end your project and give it a professional finish
--all about gauge and how to make projects that will fit

Small Class Sizes: Our knitting and crochet classes are capped at 5 students, so every learner gets individual attention and help.
Professionally Designed Curriculum: Our curriculum has been designed for complete beginners by an instructional designer and knitter to give you all the knowledge and skills you need to be successful on your knitting journey.
Encouraging Community: We really care about your success, and we strive to create the best learning environment we can for our learners. This is a low-pressure, fun, encouraging place to learn. No need for perfection - just bring your willingness to learn.
Supplemental Learning: You will receive a handout at every class that has the pattern we covered in class, supplemental pattern recommendations for additional practice, and a link to video playlists that show the skills we covered that lesson - so you won’t get lost after you go home!
Homework: Homework will be required every week to develop your skills. Completing the homework is a crucial part of this class!
Materials: A starter kit will be provided with needles and yarn to complete 4 coasters. Supplies to complete the hat and other projects will be available for purchase, or you may purchase your own elsewhere.
Required Skills/Knowledge: NONE. This course is designed for complete beginners.

Part 2: Tuesday, Oct 28
Part 3: Tuesday, Nov 4
Part 4: Tuesday, Nov 11
*Note: There is a two week break to work on your final project, a hat!
Part 5: Tuesday, Dec 2
Time: 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
