Learn how to negotiate the eBird app to use to keep your list and do community science surveys.
About this Event

To secure a place at this event, registration is required. Please make sure ALL fields are filled out on the registration form and a confirmation email is received.

Join leader Jo Anne Lafferty to learn how to negotiate the eBird mobile app. We will go step-by-step from Start Checklist to Submit. We will then discuss shared checklists and how to view your own checklist on eBird.org Also, we will explore some of the other features of your personal eBird account.
1. Please download the eBird app to your phone before the field trip.
2. Open the app and create an account. You will establish a Username and Password.
3. Cornell will then send you a link to your email to activate your account.
4. You can then sign in and review your preferences You will probably want the following preferences:
Species Name: Common
Language: English
Subspecies: off
Distance: miles
5. Get a bird pack: Install the Idaho bird pack
(If you have trouble with any of these steps, we will try to address the issue.)

Time: 8:00am - 10:00am
We will be walking on dirt paths and the Greenbelt.

Meeting Place: Marianne Williams Park, by the retrooms and picnic shelter

What to Bring: Layers for weather, binoculars and your cell phone. No dogs please.

Restroom Availability: Restrooms are available at the park.
