The artists:
MAURA MIKAELA MEDINA is an 18 year old violinist. She started the violin at age 6 under Sir Jason Templonuevo and currently studies under Sir Jeffrey Solares. Maura has received honours from the National Music Competition for Young Artists in 2022, and from the New York Young Performer's Prize in 2022 and 2023. She is a member of the Manila Symphony Junior Orchestra and was part of the group in their recent double victory at the Bratislava Music Festival and Suma Cum Laude Music Competition in Vienna.
MARCO GABRIEL PERIA is a Cellist from Calamba Laguna and started learning the cello at the age of 15 under the guidance of Mr. Aristeo Solares and he is a current member of the Manila Symphony Junior Orchestra who joined two international music competitions in europe last year, which is Summa Cum Laude International Music Festival and Bratislava Music Festival. Today, he is studying in UST Conservatory of Music under the guidance of Assistant Professor Arnold Josue.
DANEIL JEHREMIAH FERNANDEZ, 15, started learning piano with pianist/composer/playwright Joonee Garcia. The COVID lockdown provided him the time and space for more concentrated musical learning, guided by his pianist mother, Katherine Fernandez Asis.
In 2021, Daniel transferred to Professor Anthony Say of the University of Santo Tomas. Under Prof. Say's mentorship, Daniel won Gold Medals at the 2021 Seattle International Piano Competition and the 2021 Bangkok International Piano Competition, and 2nd prize at the 2021 Singapore International Piano Competition. He was also a prizewinner at the 2022 New York Youth Piano Performance Competition and the 2021 International Clara Schumann Competition. He won 2nd Place in the 2022 Steinway Philippines Competition, 1st Place and Best Interpretation of a Filipino piece in the Piano Teachers' Guild of the Philippines Sonora Competition 2022, 2nd place at the 2023 and 2025 Kayserburg Philippines Competitions, 1st Place at the 2024 PTGP Etude Competition, and 1st place at the Junior Piano category of the National Music Competitions for Young Artists.
In April 23, 2023, when Daniel was 12, he presented his premiere recital at the Ateneo Arete Hyundai Hall, playing chamber music with other promising young artists and ending the show with Dmitri Kabalevsky's "Youth" Piano Concerto in D major accompanied by the Manila Symphony Junior Orchestra under Jeffrey Solares.
In June 2025, Daniel played the third movement of the Mozart Concerto in B-flat major with the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Daniel Bartolome.
Daniel had the privilege of experiencing masterclasses under world renowned pedagogues Carmencita Arambulo, Albert Tiu, Carmencita Sipin-Aspiras, Mariel Ilusorio, Abel Galang, Jovianney Emmanuel Cruz, Jon Joven Lee, George Harliono, Ming Xie, and Rowena Arrieta. At the 2024 Taiwan International Piano Festival, he learned from world famous performer/ pedagogues Chun-Chieh Yen, Rolfe-Peter Wille, and Ben Kim.
Daniel is a ninth grade student at the Philippine Science High School. He is also an avid math and physics contestant who has won local and international competitions, such as the Southeast Asian Math Olympiad, Math Teacher's Guild, Asian Math and Science League, the Singapore and Asian Schools Math Olympiad, among others. He twice received a YES! Award from the Department of Science and Technology for his outstanding achievements in math and science.
