About this Event
If there's one beer style that symbolizes the surge in craft beer popularity over the last decade, it's the IPA. But one IPA is not like the other - there is a tremendous range of flavor, bitterness, and alcohol content.
In this class we'll explore this style's historical development in British brewing culture and how it morphed into the defining style of American craft beer. We'll also do a little deep dive into its key ingredient: hops. Learn how hops from various regions differ in aromatics and the different ways hops are used in the brewing process to achieve a range of bitterness and flavor profiles. We'll explore the nuances between pale ales, west coast IPAs, and the juicy, hazy New England style IPAs dominating the beer scene lately.
Tickets are $30 and includes educational presentation and beer tasting. Participants must be 21+ years of age. This class is led by Kelly Pickard, Certified Cicerone® .
