About this Event
You know we love our craft beer here at Alewife, but we are also huge fans of cider and mead! In the seven years since we opened, we've grown from offering a couple options to having more than a half dozen shelves stocked with ciders and meads of all types!
Intrigued by mead, but not quite sure what exactly mead is? Love cider, but you want something more than the overly sweet, mass-market options you find on grocery store shelves? This class is for you!
We will cover all the basics you need to know to better understand all the cider and mead options out there! From regional styles, sweetness levels, alcohol strength, and carbonation levels - you'll learn all the basics you need to navigate the growing options available on the market. Most importantly, you'll get to taste the differences with a guided tasting!
The class will be led by Alewife co-owner and Certified Cicerone®, Kelly Pickard. Cost to attend is $25 and includes educational presentation, handouts, and a guided tasting. All class attendees must present ID showing they are 21+ years old.
