Beer Mile & Summer Beer Olympics x Velum Fermentation | Part of the 2024 PA Brewery Running Series™
Join us for a DAY OF PLAY at Velum Fermentation!
In the spirit of friendly competition this Olympic season, we've lined up a DAY OF PLAY with a Beer Mile followed by playful Beer Olympics games at this awesome taproom in the South Side. Whether you're a seasoned tri athlete or just looking for a fun way to stay active, this event is fun for all.
The Beer Mile: get your heart pumping as you walk, jog, or skip 4 laps around the Velum block (4 laps = 1 mile!). The challenge? Every quarter mile there is a Velum pour to be enjoyed before you proceed with the next lap.
The Keg Course: complete the course with tenacity & agility
Flip Cup: A classic that can be anyone's game!
**Additional challenges may be added closer to event time**Events in the game room focus on skill - we do not condone excessive drinking/chugging**
After you complete the Summer Beer Olympics games, refuel with the on site food truck, get social & enjoy the day's entertainment, giveaways, and activities. Velum also offers pickleball, ping pong, and arcade games so you can keep the friendly competition going!

This event is part of our 2024 PA Brewery Running Series Season

Our mission is to be active, have fun and give back. A portion of all proceeds from our events supports local nonprofits - over $500k raised to date! This event will add to that tally by donating 10% to Pennsylvania Special Olympics.
So not only do you get to enjoy some healthy activity and great, local beer - you are helping us support local organizations that do important work in our community.

Important details:
- This is an untimed, fun-run. All levels of walkers, runners and joggers are welcome.
- This is an open course, meaning roads will NOT be closed. You are responsible for obeying all traffic laws and regulations.
- We create each route to start and end at the brewery and to show off the surrounding neighborhood. The course will be marked with arrows to help you know where to go.
- You must bring a valid ID or driver's license. You do not need to be 21 to enjoy the event, but you must be 21 to enjoy the beer. Please drink responsibly. Registered, underage participants will receive a token for a FREE non-alcoholic beverage.
- Our events are rain or shine! If conditions become unsafe to run, we will still hang out and drink beer.
- There will not be a bag check; please plan accordingly and dress appropriately for the weather.
- Dogs and strollers are welcome on the course, with care and caution. Please remember - you are running at your own risk on city sidewalks / streets / trails, which might not be suitable for your 4-legged and /or pint size running buddies. You will also want to check with the brewery to make sure you can abide by their dog / underage policies. Please make the best decision possible for your crew.
- Please drink responsibly. We always encourage carpooling and safe, designated drivers.
