Beer Mile & Summer Beer Olympics x Velum Fermentation | Part of the 2024 PA Brewery Running Series™In the spirit of friendly competition this Olympic season, we've lined up a DAY OF PLAY with a Beer Mile followed by playful Beer Olympics games at this awesome taproom in the South Side.
Whether you're a seasoned tri athlete or just looking for a fun way to stay active, this event is fun for all.
11am The Beer Mile: get your heart pumping as you run, walk, jog, or skip (anything goes really!) 4 laps around the Velum block. 4 laps = 1 mile! The challenge? Every quarter mile there is a Velum 5oz. pour to be enjoyed before you proceed with the next lap.
Bronze, silver, & gold awards will be given to the 3 fastest individuals as well as one group award for best group outfit.
11:45am Flip Cup: A classic that can be anyone's game! Speed is the name of the game: a single-elimination/knockout style tournament where the loser of each match-up is immediately eliminated. Each winner will play another in the next round, until the final match-up for bronze, silver & gold. **This event is held indoors.
12:15pm The Keg Course: Complete the course with tenacity, agility, and speed. An elimination/knockout style tournament where the slowest of each heat is immediately eliminated from the tournament. Winners will play another in the next round, until the final match-up for bronze, silver & gold. **This event is held indoors.
**Events inside the game room focus on skill & speed - we do not condone excessive drinking/chugging**
After you complete the Summer Beer Olympics games, refuel with the on site food truck, get social & enjoy the day's entertainment, giveaways, and activities. Velum also offers pickleball, ping pong, and arcade games so you can keep the friendly competition going!

Our mission is to be active, have fun and give back. A portion of all proceeds from our events supports local nonprofits - over $500k raised to date! This event will add to that tally by donating 10% to Pennsylvania Special Olympics.
