Our Annual Beer, Cider and Music Festival will be held over the last weekend of July. This year we host 11 bands/musicians. We are still working on the beers and ciders, last year we had 19 beers in the Festival Bar and 30 ciders - also the usual products were for sale inside the pub. Friday 26th July
6pm - Blackdown Hillbillies
Once again, we have invited the Blackdown Hillbillies to open our Festival. They have a large repertoire of songs from many different musical genres, Folk, Traditional, Bluegrass, Country, Blues and 60s/70s Pop. Covering hits from people like the Eagles, Buddy Holly, Bob Dylan and The Beatles.

7.15pm - Nigel Reader
Nigel is one of our regular customers and regularly performs local gigs and also internationally (well Wales at least). A crooner of style who delivers his songs with consummate ease covering a wide range of songs from Sinatra to the present day.

8.30pm - Barry Paull (Elvis Tribute)
Barry is ‘The’ Elvis Tribute act. After a phenomenal and meteoric rise to success in the West of England, Barry as ‘Elvis’ is now in constant demand throughout the UK and abroad. Barry has already performed repeatedly at exclusive hotels, society parties, arts festivals, weddings, anniversaries, clubs, steam fairs, charity functions, sports events, military bases and holiday parks. If you have seen him before you know how great his performances are – if you haven’t seen him then don’t miss the experience, it is not often that Elvis is in our building!

2.30pm - Miss Ivy Belle
Miss Ivy Belle is a talented vocalist who specialises in jazz & swing and is based in Taunton. She performs classic songs from 1920’s-60’s as well as modern numbers with a vintage twist (think Postmodern Julebox).

4.30pm - Rachael Sweeting
Rachael hails from the Taunton area and is a singer/guitarist who performs a large repertoire of acoustic covers using a guitar and a loop pedal. She has performed here at the Winch a number of times over the years and we welcome her back for another top tapping performance.

Bird Dogs, with a combined 80 years of professional musical experience playing classic tunes from the 60s, 70s and much more! Playing great music from bands including The Hollies, The Beatles, Crowded House, Fleetwood Mac, Oasis, Eagles, Manfred Mann, Steely Dan, CCR, Kaiser Chiefs, Neil Young Monkees, Lindisfarne, Blink182, Cheap Trick, The Undertones, The Kinks, The Byrds, The Rolling Stones, too many to name, are just a few of the original artists whose classic tunes can be found in an extensive catalogue of over 100 timeless sing-along party favourites.

Sunday 28th July
2.30pm - High Voltage Singers
The High Voltage Singers is a FAB, FUN, SATB singing group, who have a lot of fun singing uplifting music, covering Jazz, American Songbook, Rock & Roll and much more! They hail from Twyford and are making a return after appearing at last year’s Festival.

3.30pm - Taunton Ukulele Strummers Club
The ‘World Famous’ Taunton Ukulele Strummers Club need no introduction to the denizens of Trull. They are a fun, lively group who sing a wide variety of songs with great gusto. Come along and join in singing with them at their latest knock-out performance here at the Winch! We can’t wait to join in the fun!

5pm - Luis Martelo
Luis is another performer who needs no introduction. He has regularly performed at the Winch, for which we are blessed as he has a tremendous reputation and appears all around Europe and has recently played in Canada! A great jazz trumpeter who will get everyone tapping their feet and singing along with his wide range of songs. Personally, I can’t wait to hear him play ‘When the Saints go Marching In’

Jay is another extremely busy performer and after appearing at the Winch last September we were absolutely delighted to able to book him to appear at the Beer Festival! He has been performing for many years and has a wide range of cover songs that he performs to his own backing tracks that he has mixed himself. A real powerhouse of a performer and the perfect way to round off our Beer, Cider & Music Festival weekend! Dance Sunday Evening away!
