This is a one day intensive learning experience. There will be classroom presentations and also hands-on in the apiary. Bring your gloves/veils if you want (you can purchase these from us if you don't have them).Topics will include:
- Biology of the Honeybee
- Hive hardware and tools
- Where/how to place my hive
- Swarms
- Feeding
- Pests / treatment
- Extracting
- Preparing for winter
- Hands-on in our apiary (bring your veil and gloves if you have them. if not, I have a couple extras.
Class size limited to 15 students each.
Cost is $99 and includes lunch. You can send a check or call with a credit card to reserve your seat. You must pre-pay to reserve a seat.
We accept cash, checks, major credit cards (3.6%fee), and Venmo. Call/email for details on payment options.
**PLEASE NOTE: You do NOT have to currently have bees to attend the class! This will give you valuable insight into beekeeping so when you get your bees, you will be better prepared.
