Join us for a sweet afternoon celebrating local bees, local blooms, and the incredible honey produced in Omaha’s Elmwood Park. Mark Welsch, local beekeeper, will be joining us at Cali Commons to for an open discussion on bee keeping. And YES – he will have honey for sale! Whether you’re a longtime fan or just curious about how honey gets from hive to jar, this is a fun chance to connect and learn. Bring your questions about honey bees and see if you can stump The Beekeeper!About Mark:
Mark Welsch is affectionately referred to as "The Beekeeper"! He started keeping honey bees 60 years ago, when he was 10 years old. That's when he (with help from his dad) removed a colony of bees from a building on their farm and put them into a beehive. That started a lifelong fascination and love of the little insects, who all work together for the greater good of the whole hive. He currently has eight beehives in four different friends' backyards in Omaha.
