Honor Our Veterans on Tuesday November 11th 7 pm downstairs at the Manassas Church of the Brethren 10047 Nokesville Road (route 28), Manassas, VA 20110 starting at 7 pm. Scott Thorlin of Persimmons Hollow Farm will show us how to make candles and talk about the many other value-added products of the hive they produce. Many of you may know Scott and Serena from the Haymarket Farmers Market, Culpepper, or the apiary at Verdun. Scott is also a Veteran and went through the Hives for Heroes program as well as the PWRBA Bee School- he is a wealth of knowledge and a great example of the art and science of beekeeping as well as the benefits of mentoring and being mentored.
