A workshop to give us the 411 on bees and the sweet honey they make
About this Event

Brooke Vacovsky, certified beekeeper and founder of Southeast Beescapes, will be hosting a workshop to give us the 411 on bees and the sweet honey they make. In a fun and interactive class, she’ll cover the different species of bees, their role in protecting biodiversity, and the intricacies and importance of the honey they produce. She’ll also be bringing different honeys for all to taste and explain what makes each honey unique.

Brooke has been beekeeping for 8 years and her love for our pollinator friends is so infectious you can’t help but become a bee lover yourself. Come on out for what promises to be an exciting and information-packed event.

Following the class, all are welcome to continue enjoying their afternoon in the park with food, drinks, games, and other activities.

About 684 Mountain Drive: Livable Buckhead is working to turn the plot of land located at 684 Mountain Drive into a community park. Over the past few years, we’ve planted trees there, added picnic benches painted with colorful murals, and have even introduced bee hives with a supporting pollinator garden. The bee habitat was created in partnership with Buckhead Rotary and Doc’s Healing Hives, a nonprofit that introduces veterans to beekeeping in an effort to help them heal through the experience of managing their own hives.
