Becoming Zero- A guided, meditative journey into deep awareness and nervous-system regulation.

Imagine returning to your factory settings.
Not fixing yourself.
Not upgrading yourself.
Not becoming the “best version.”
Just resetting to the most basic, uncluttered state of being — before tension, habits, identities, and coping strategies moved in and never quite left.
This workshop is an invitation to let the conscious mind step slightly aside and allow a quieter layer underneath to take the lead. A place where the body can release what it’s been holding and the system can recalibrate — without force, without substances, and without trying to have a spiritual experience.
What happens from there is… unpredictable (in a good way).
Some people sink into very deep stillness.
Some gain clarity.
Some notice emotional or physical tension loosening, releasing blocked trauma.
Some experience the unprecedented.
Some simply fall asleep — and wake up feeling oddly refreshed, as if something essential quietly rearranged itself.
There’s no goal to reach and nothing to “achieve.”
You stay conscious, in control, and free to engage as much or as little as you like.
Think less transcendence.
More space.
And curiosity about what shows up when you stop doing.., and start being.

Who this is for:
A small group of curious, regulated, intelligent humans
who already trust embodied work
who are mildly tired of spiritual marketing
and who suspect that less effort might actually lead somewhere interesting.

Why now:
It’s winter.
A season to do less — and feel more. A time to turn inward and simplify.
Nervous systems are fried.
The world is slightly quieter — and more honest.
Fewer distractions.
More room to listen.
Like all of nature in winter, back to the roots.
A good moment to empty — and refill — the container.

Workshop Flow:
7:30 pm — Arrival & settling in
Tea, water, gentle landing in the space.
7:45 pm – 8:30 pm — Grounding yoga & embodied movement
A slow, accessible practice to arrive in the body and prepare the ground for deeper stillness.
8:30 pm – 9:00 pm — Introduction & framing
Context for the experience, intention-setting, and practical guidance.
9:00 pm – midnight — Zero session (guided meditative experience)
A deep, non-forceful process. Participants may finish earlier or later — there is no pressure to “stay in” or perform in any way.
During the session:
A separate space with light food and warm drinks is available for those who complete the process earlier and wish to rest or ground.
12:00 am – 1:00 am — Integration & closing
Optional group reflection, questions, and gentle guidance for integration.

Important notes & self-responsibility:
No prior experience with yoga or meditation is needed — curiosity is enough.
The workshop will be held in English.
This is not therapy, medical treatment, or a substitute for professional mental health care.
Because the experience may touch on personal material, participants are asked to come with:
a basic capacity for self-regulation
willingness to stay present with their own experience
readiness to take responsibility for their own boundaries
If you are currently in acute psychological distress, undergoing major psychiatric instability, or unsure whether this kind of exploration is appropriate for you, please consider consulting your therapist or healthcare provider beforehand.
Participants on medication are welcome; each person is responsible for knowing their own limits and needs.

Facilitators
Joep Hamaker (NL) is an independent facilitator and guide working at the intersection of embodied awareness and the subconscious, deep stillness, and the world of subtle energy — in relation to the body, emotions, mind, and consciousness.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in Social Studies and has experience supporting individuals within mental healthcare contexts, with a particular interest in how behaviour patterns and stress-disorders relate to trauma and the subconscious, nervous-system regulation, and how states of awareness influence wellbeing on the emotional, mental and physical level. Alongside this work, he is the co-founder of HapbeeMead, a Netherlands-based craft mead company. Joep’s work did not emerge from formal spiritual training or academic study, but from direct inner experience. Several years ago, following a spontaneous spiritual initiation, he entered a prolonged period of deep inner transformation marked by stillness, heightened awareness, and ongoing insight into the dynamics of consciousness and subtle energy. Only later did he recognize that these lived experiences form the hidden foundation of many contemplative traditions, myths, and sacred texts across cultures — not as abstract philosophy, but as embodied, experiential knowledge.
From this process, Joep developed the approach he refers to as the Zero-state: a practice centered on stillness, reduced effort, harmonization with the subconscious, and internal freedom. Rather than seeking altered states or peak experiences, the work invites individuals to return to a fundamental state of being, allowing natural transformations to unfold and a direct understanding to arise of the universe in its simplicity.
Today, Joep guides individuals and groups in non-forceful, substance-free exploration of consciousness, supporting processes of inner stillness, mastery of subtle energy, and practical integration. He is currently writing on these subjects and continues to refine his work through ongoing practice and collaboration.

Monika Broz (PL/US) is a yoga teacher, artist, and owner of Joga Centrum. She creates spaces where movement meets awareness, and where the body becomes a medium for inquiry, expression, and regulation.
Her approach to yoga is rooted in breath, embodied presence, and nervous-system awareness, supporting the release of tension and the cultivation of inner coherence — not only on the mat, but in everyday life. Rather than focusing on form alone, her work emphasizes safety, sensitivity, and the capacity to listen inwardly.
Monika lived for many years in New York, where she studied fine arts and worked as a photographer — experiences that continue to inform her intuitive and creative way of holding space. She began practicing yoga in 2006 and has been teaching since 2016, alongside ongoing exploration of meditation and embodied awareness practices.
In her teaching, Monika is particularly attentive to the quality of the container: clarity, trust, and enough spaciousness for authentic experience to unfold. Her classes are experiential and sensory, often accompanied by music, subtle ritual, and a playful sense of curiosity.

Previous Participants' reflections / Testimonials

''All kinds of pains and tensions became apparent, which I could then actively let go. Also my eyesight became more clear and rooms suddenly felt more spacious.''
''It was like I was in a galaxy. With different kinds of colours. I just didn't want to focus, as it kept taking me along and focusing would stop it. I have meditated often, but this is a totally new experience and now I finally have a clear idea of what meditation is and what it can do.''
''A lot of emotion came loose. I can still not fully let go. I know I am still carrying trauma. I normally don't talk about it much. This has helped a lot for that.''
''After the session, during which I had the most profound experience of my life, for months I still felt like I was floating. Also my life-goal had suddenly become crystal clear.''
