NRA Range Safety Officer (RSO) Certification Course
This course is designed for individuals who wish to serve as certified Range Safety Officers — the professionals responsible for organizing, conducting, and supervising safe shooting activities and range operations.
Prerequisites: Participants should be at least 21 years of age and possess basic competency with firearms handling and safety.
Topics Covered Include:
- Roles & responsibilities of an RSO
- Range Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), rules, and inspections
- Conducting safety briefings and enforcing range protocols
- Emergency procedures, firearm stoppages, and malfunctions
Format & Duration: One comprehensive day combining classroom instruction and range-facility demonstration. Upon successful completion and examination, participants will receive an NRA RSO certification.
