Train this fall to lead nature events, connect people to the Laguna, and join a vibrant team of passionate volunteers!
About this Event

Help bring the Laguna Foundation’s community events to life! Our year-round presentations, nature outings, and workshops deepen appreciation for the Laguna de Santa Rosa, connect people with nature, and inspire a vibrant, informed community.

These are made possible by Laguna Guides—dedicated volunteers who support events by:

  • Greeting and engaging attendees
  • Sharing knowledge about the Laguna
  • Setting up and breaking down event spaces
  • Directing parking and assisting with merchandise
  • Helping foster enthusiasm for this Wetland of International Importance

Benefits of Being a Laguna Guide:

  • Attend fascinating events for free
  • Join a friendly team of nature-lovers
  • Serve the community
  • Enjoy continuing education, special outings, and volunteer socials

Training Schedule (14 hours total):

  • Thursday, Sept. 18 (6–8pm): Meet the Laguna de Santa Rosa Watershed
  • Thursday Sept. 25 (6–8pm): Meet the Laguna de Santa Rosa Foundation
  • Saturday, Sept. 27 (9am–2pm): Indoor training at Heron Hall
  • Saturday, Oct. 4 (9am–2pm): Outdoor training at Irwin Creek (Lunch provided)

The $45 fee includes a training binder, name tag, and lunch. If cost is a barrier, please reach out to [email protected]. A commitment of 3 volunteer hours/month is requested after completing the course. Most shifts take place on evenings and weekends, with occasional weekday mornings.
Please register by September 1 so we can prepare materials in advance—thank you!
