The beaver is a keystone species and one of nature's most awesome ecological engineers. Through the building of dams the digging of canals and the creation of dead wood beavers create and maintain habitats where an abundance and diversity of life can flourish.
This talk will explore the vision of two farming brothers who want to restore a stretch of the River Meon by using nature not diggers.
William and Oliver Atkinson owners of Meonside Farm will share their story of the reintroduction of the first beavers to the River Meon. They will share the challenges and obstacles that were faced in making the reintroduction a reality.
The talk will showcase some before and after photos as the beavers make the stream their home and begin to create new valuable wetland habitat.
Tickets can be booked online or paid for on the door - £4 suggested donation.
