Beauty Plus Exhibition Opening

Beauty Plus documents the final chapter of the second Black-owned New Haven, CT beauty supply store, capturing its role as a space of community, identity, and resilience for Black and Brown residents for over 30 years. Through the lens of large-format photography, the project honors the care, labor, and legacy of owner Mel while reflecting on the complex cultural dynamics of Black beauty and self-expression.

Join us at the historic Sunset House LA for the VIP Collectors Circle from 5–7 PM for an intimate Artist Talk with Jasmine Ross about the Beauty Plus body of work. Your ticket includes one complimentary drink.

From 7–11 PM, the Public Opening welcomes everyone to experience the photo exhibition, with special live performances including a set with DJ Collective, The Big Guy (Aux Cord + P-Lo) , and additional artists to be announced.

This collaborative evening celebrates Black and Brown beauty spaces, the community-buildiers who support them, and the creatives who continue to shape arts and culture.
