Learn the basics of Cyanotype. Cyanotype is an alternative photography method that uses the light of the sun to develop a blue and white image. In this workshop learn all about traditional cyanotypes; including history, precautions, and methods. You will get hands on practice, designing and developing cyanotype prints. We will also play a bit with double exposure methods. Take home 3-5 lovely prints suitable for framing.

All supplies are included.

Feel free to bring plant cutting and objects with unique shapes, instructor will provide many options as well.

Judy Pickett is a local artist who combines cyanotype printmaking with encaustic painting. As a former teacher, Judy loves to teach others about her unique medium. “When I was introduced to the alternative photography method, known as cyanotype, I was hooked! Cyanotype uses photosensitive paper to develop an image without a camera. It creates beautiful blue and white images by laying an object or a negative onto the paper and exposing it in the sun. It's magic! “

Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are available to FNGLA Certified Professionals upon request.

Participants must withdraw from classes at least five days prior to the start of class in order to receive a full refund or credit. Only those registered for the class will be permitted in the classroom. Childcare is not provided.
